Foundation of Eye Health

Comprehensive Eye Exams

A routine eye exam is one of the most important health screenings you can get. Dr. Mortensen performs thorough evaluations that go far beyond just checking your prescription. He assesses the full health of your eyes and screening for conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

We recommend annual exams for most adults and more frequent visits for patients with existing conditions or higher risk factors.

  • Visual acuity and refraction testing
  • Intraocular pressure screening (glaucoma)
  • Retinal health evaluation
  • Color vision and depth perception testing
  • Binocular vision assessment
  • Updated prescription for glasses or contacts

Comfortable Vision

Contact Lens Fittings

Not all contact lenses are created equal. A proper fitting ensures your lenses are matched to the unique shape and needs of your eyes, improving comfort, vision quality, and long-term eye health. We offer a full range of contact lens types for virtually every prescription and lifestyle.

  • Daily, bi-weekly, and monthly soft lenses
  • Toric lenses for astigmatism
  • Multifocal lenses for presbyopia
  • Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses
  • Scleral lenses for irregular corneas
  • Specialty lenses for dry eye sufferers

Protecting Young Eyes

Myopia Management

Myopia (nearsightedness) is growing at a rapid rate among children. Left unmanaged, high myopia increases the risk of serious eye conditions later in life. We offer evidence-based treatment protocols to slow the progression of myopia in children and teens.

Early intervention makes a measurable difference. We'll evaluate your child's vision trajectory and recommend the most appropriate management strategy for their age and lifestyle.

  • Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) overnight lenses
  • Atropine eye drop therapy
  • Multifocal soft contact lenses
  • Lifestyle modification guidance
  • Regular monitoring and adjustments

Long-Lasting Relief

Dry Eye Treatment

Chronic dry eye affects millions of Americans, causing irritation, redness, blurred vision, and discomfort. Rather than just managing symptoms, we focus on identifying the root cause and providing targeted treatment for lasting relief.

Dr. Mortensen will conduct a thorough dry eye evaluation to determine whether your condition stems from insufficient tear production, poor tear quality, or other factors, then create a treatment plan built around your needs.

  • Comprehensive dry eye evaluation
  • Prescription eye drops and lubricants
  • Meibomian gland evaluation and treatment
  • Nutritional supplement recommendations
  • Environmental and lifestyle modifications
  • Advanced in-office treatments when appropriate

Starting Early

Pediatric Eye Care

Children's eyes develop rapidly, and undetected vision problems can affect learning, development, and quality of life. We recommend children have their first eye exam by age 1, again at age 3, and annually once they start school.

Our office is designed to make young patients feel comfortable and at ease. Dr. Mortensen uses child-friendly testing techniques that don't require your child to read or respond to complex directions.

  • Infant and toddler eye evaluations
  • School-age vision screenings
  • Amblyopia (lazy eye) diagnosis and management
  • Strabismus (eye alignment) assessment
  • Children's glasses and contact lens fittings
  • Myopia management programs
